Keen followers of our little corner of the internet will know we've been big fans of the Kirkcaldy 4-piece for a while; even covering their electric performance at a sold out King Tuts.
However, Shambolics are about to eclipse all that's been before with a huge homecoming gig at Lourenzos in Dunfermline.
As the days countdown, the excitement grows, especially now with the release of fan favourite, My Time is Now. What has long been a fixture of their live sets, has now evolved through a studio transformation.
Recorded by Al Groves [Bring me the Horizon, Ian Broudie and er.. Claire Sweeney] at Motor Museum in Liverpool, we see quite a fundamental change in the band's sound as the track is packed with increased urgency and more bite than previous releases.
The results are astounding, My Time Is Now is dense with all sorts going on; solos, piercing riffs, their trademark harmonising and tight drumming - each listen reveals yet another layer.
Perhaps the most notable difference is the length, with previous releases hitting the 5min mark, the boys have trimmed it down, condensed what has gone before and are all the better for it.
After years of touring, developing their sound you get the feeling that this most definitely is their time.
Bring on 2019!
