Glasgow newcomers ‘Pretty Strange’ recently dropped their debut single ‘Lady of the Night’ and it’s a clear statement of intent, in particular the powerful vocal performance by Leighann McStay, who steals the show on their first outing.
The alt-rock 4-piece have been patient since forming in 2018, choosing to spend their time writing, recording and experimenting with their sound - and judging by ‘Lady of the Night’ this has massively paid off. Recorded with the highly regarded Mark Morrow (folda), he has wisely not over-produced, leaving the band to unleash and explode into each chorus.
The makings of a great recording partnership - we’re excited to hear what else Pretty Strange have planned for this year.
With no gigs on the horizon, please do what you can do support local bands, whether it be buying merch, music or just streaming the hell out of their tracks. Once gigs are back on the table, get filling those venues!
