Paris Street Rebels - Kings of Balado

Release: 12th April

Label: Unsigned

Gearing up for their biggest headline gig this Saturday at the legendary PJ Molloys, Paris Street Rebels drop their most impressive single to date.

The third musical helping from our favourite Fifers comes in the form of ‘Kings of Balado’ an ode to Scotland’s dearly departed festival, T in the Park.

We first crossed paths with these self-confessed heathens during an outing to Outwith festival in Dunfermline last year and were immediately blown away, ‘Balado’ being a particular highlight of the set that night.

This new offering from the boys has a darker sound than previous singles which works well in tandem with the discerning and witty lyricism from frontmen Grant Malcom and Kevin Murphy Jnr. Sharing the guitar duties, harmonies and lyrics akin to the Libertines, the band are undoubtedly on the up, bringing their raw and explosive sound to the table.

‘Kings of Balado’ is a brilliant slow builder that transcends in a crescendo of frantic guitars, drums and relatable lyrics that leaves us wanting so much more. We end with a poetic turn from Grant reminding us how we all yearn for that festival spirit and those summer defining weekends where lifelong memories were made. - SR
