Neon Waltz have treated everyone to an early Christmas present this year, with new single ‘The Stranger Things’.
This track contains all the signature elements we have come to expect from the band; poetic song writing with unique melodies that demonstrate how strong an outfit they really are. The lads have produced a more assured effort this time around, adding that extra layer that was missing on impressive debut album ‘Strange Hymns'.
The band have matured, producing a deep looping bass line with the now signature guitar distortion and melodic drumming. Lead singer Jordan Shearer’s vocals stand out massively on this record, you will struggle find a voice as good as his doing the rounds on the current scene; lyrically fantastic as well,
“If it can’t be bought, it can’t be sold”.
Drummer, Darren Coghill had his say;
"In between our live dates in the summer we began serious work on new music. We’re still doing that and we could wait until the time is perfect with a record in hand or we could start letting it go sooner. ‘The Stranger Things’ is about making sure your priorities are in line. Or maybe even just about realising those priorities. It’s less frills. More balls. Not enough spring reverb. And too much heart."
The Stranger Things comes coupled with a brilliant video directed by Jordan himself. "We basically just wanted to have a bit of fun with one of our videos for the first time," says Shearer.
All the evidence points to 2019 being a huge year for the band, with more new music on its way and their biggest UK Headline tour to date; the next six months are going to be rather exciting.
