Liverpool, the city which keeps on giving, a fertile ground for raw indie bands to burst onto the scene. Here we have the latest band simmering under the surface, garage rock 4-piece, Cents.
Wasting no time making their mark, debut track Parking Spaces sees Cents fly out the blocks. Dripping with attitude and bite, lead singer, Sean Murphy-O'Neill, barks articulately about relatable subjects, reminiscent of early Arctic Monkeys.
Influences range from The Orwells to FIDLAR, bands indie at heart, but with that punk edge. Parking Spaces proves this young band have bags of potential, and with two further releases around the corner, we have little doubt Cents will develop as they begin to define their own identity.
Along with peers Shame and BlackWaters, the garage rock scene is most definitely alive and kicking.
