Despite only forming at the tail end of 2017, Beta Waves are already one of the hottest bands in Scotland. The duo, hailing from Dundee, released debut single I Think I’m Melting earlier this year to much acclaim, and looking to capitalise on this momentum, they sharply followed up with Let it Out.

The track begins with an ambient feel, floating vocals, which slowly builds throughout, meandering between foot-stomping indie choruses and alternative electronic beats. Coming in under 3mins, there’s no filler here, it leaves you with a taste for more.
Trying to pigeon hole or detail comparisons can often be a mugs game, as it happens, it’s nigh on impossible with Beta Waves. They’ve have managed to bring something different to the current scene.
Dale from BW added: “I’d like to think we are a bit different from other bands in Scotland at the minute. We are not a traditional set up, two of us with lots of electronics. It’s a bit of a guitar/electronic hybrid.”
Showing such ambition deserves to be applauded and recognised by a wider audience, we have little doubt this is only a matter of time.
Live shows have also been going down a treat with two sell out Dundee shows and supporting slots with Neon Waltz, The Big Moon and Moonlight Zoo.
With festival season in full swing, you can catch Beta Waves at Belladrum, Saint Lukes All Dayer and Tenement Trail.
