We've all had that first car, mine being a Vauxhall Corsa lacking in style, speed and crucially power-steering. However, what it does give you is that sense of freedom and a confidence kick. The same can be said for relationships, with their highs and lows but ultimately we'd be stranded without them.
This is no second hand Corsa! Here we see Amy Lou, one of Scotlands brightest emerging bands, start the year with a brand new Fiat Five Hunner, their follow up to debut single, Chania.
The track wastes no time with introductions as we immediately hear the unmistakable voice of Amy backed by a power riff giving way to a classic indie-pop feel. The pace is steady, more controlled than her debut, with short bursts of her considerably feisty growl.
Once more we are swept away on another tale of romance; from stuttering, uneasy beginnings - much like "scratched vinyl" - to that same someone passing compliments on admittedly "bad taste in fashion".
It wasn't so long ago the driving force behind Amy lou almost called it quits, before forming a band and writing music again. On this showing, it's clear there's no reversing this runaway talent. ~ DC
