MM | NEW MUSIC WEEKLY 02

Updated: Apr 12, 2019

Each week we bring you a snapshot of our favourite tracks so you need never miss out on the best new music from these shores. This week we have pop, punk, dream-pop and well, the mad genius of Slime City...

Be Charlotte - Do Not Disturb

The first major release for the talented Dundonian is a breath-taking pop single. Sometimes artists can get overwhelmed after being snapped up by a big label - not the case here. Charlotte is her usual honest self with the most infectious melody of the year.

Where: Dundee

Released: 8th March

Slime City - Dial-up Internet Is The Purest Internet

Three guys called Michael making the most bonkers single of the year so far and we love it. Catch them live to get the full Slime City experience!

Where: Glasgow

Released: 15th Jan

Man of Moon - Ride The Waves

This slow burner makes up 1/4 of the duo's latest EP, Chemicals. The multi-layered structure lures you in with it's wall to wall fuzz and pulsating beats.

Where: Edinburgh

Released: 8th March

Rascalton - Eddy

Just as the plane was taking off for Texas, Glasgow's favourite punk 4-piece couldn't leave without dropping us a little treat. It arrived in the form of recent live favourite 'Eddy'. A storming 1m 39secs - which perfectly encapsulates all that is good about the Glasgow scene.

Where: Glasgow

Released: 8th March

Heavy Rapids - Infected Nightmares (Frankenstein)

They're back! One of our picks for 2019 have not disappointed with both new singles this year. This latest racing punk track sees them comment on the darker side of Glasgow, nailed on to be a live favourite.

Where: Glasgow

Released: 5th March

swim school - sway

The debut single for local band Swim School has us VERY excited about what else they have in store for us. It's a perfect slice of dream-pop not seen for years, a band Scotland's been crying out for. Flowing vocals building to a crashing crescendo. Lush.

Where: Edinburgh

Released: 22nd Feb
