HYYTS - Car Crash Carnivore

Released: 12th April

Pop Music. HYYTS make ambitious pop music and with new single ‘Car Crash Carnivore’ they’ve raised the already-high-bar yet again. Having only burst onto the scene in 2018, the Glaswegian pair consisting of Adam and Sam, have already make a big impression with their genre-busting pop flair. Throughout ‘Car Crash Carnivore’ the listener is taken on a rollercoaster through a euphoric pop world, making twists and turns from hip hop to 90s House, it’s everything pop in 2019 should be.

The Dunts - Bad Decisions

Released: 17th May

We’ve waited a while for this one, The Dunts’ first single of 2019, and it comes in the guise of frantic punk anthem ‘Bad Decisions’. It’s packed with everything we’ve come to love about these Glasgow tearaways, like quick riffs and pounding drums, but with added quirks, like an acoustic breakdown! It’s been a whirlwind 12 months for the boys which has seen them play massive shows at Reading & Leeds festival as well as a successful jaunt over to Texas for SXSW. Now with their feet firmly back on home soil and this latest punk juggernaut in their arsenal, the crossfire is aimed firmly at festival season. First stop TRNSMT.

The Patryns - Do It Again

Released: 19th April

Dealing in strictly rock n roll, these Falkirk rockers have been around the scene for a few years, however it wasn’t until last year when they made a big impression with debut single ‘Inneundo’ follwoed by a string of your dates. Latest Single ‘Do It Again’ sees another musical progression, backed with the production powers of 7 West Studios adding a heavier, more menacing sound. The pulsating bass and big riffs throughout builds to toe-tapping, head-bouncing choruses.

Vida - Take it Easy

Released: 3rd May

These lads know how to write a psychedelic melody, and latest track ‘Take it Easy’ sees them at the top of their game. Britpop is often cited as the biggest influence of countless emerging bands, but very few keep it as fresh and current as Vida. A testament to the musicianship, songwriting and melodic vocals of frontman Jamie Pollock. Despite little in the way of new music since 2018’s anthemic ‘A Place We Can Forget’ - the 5-piece have continued to forge a strong and loyal following, which has seen them play sold out gigs across the UK and Europe.

Splendid Suns - Glass Eyes

Released: 10th May

The unsigned 4-piece from Fife drop their latest indie track ‘Glass Eye’ just in time for the scorching Scottish summer, the kind of weather this was made for. Influences shine through from the likes of Circa Waves and Two Door Cinema Club and since its release, we’ve been drinking it in like a fizzed up can of sweet cream soda, full sugar, of course. Keep an eye out for a scattering of shows throughout Scotland this summer.

The Roly Mo- If You Play Nice

Released: 12th April

The new wave is upon us, as young musicians continue to seek inspiration from the healthy Glasgow scene, and as momentum continues to grow there is a pack of young guns ready to make the breakthrough - leading the way are The Roly Mo whose follow-up single ‘If You Play Nice’ is an absolute stormer. The pace is relentless for the full 2mins running time, as the sheer frustration and anger seeps from the speakers. A band going places.
